Created in 2016 by Steven Galanis, Martin Blencowe and Devon Spinnler Townsend, the Cameo platform allows celebrities to send personalized video messages to their fans. The Cameo service was quickly deployed internationally, so that in France, it is possible to request a personalized video from Samy Naceri, Pascal Legitimus, Christophe Lemaitre or even Patrick Montel. With its new Live service, Cameo is going even further, allowing anyone who wishes (and who pays) to enjoy a video chat with their favorite star.

Indeed, Cameo is very proud to announce a new version of its Live function, which therefore allows users to enjoy a 10-minute video call with a celebrity. Users can also choose to participate in this video session one-on-one, or with a handful of other fans, for a group call. It’s not the first time that Cameo has explored this feature, and already last year, the group launched Cameo Calls, which often offered video calls limited to just two short minutes.
The operation of Cameo Live is very simple, since all you have to do is go to the dedicated web platform, and choose the celebrity with whom you would like to spend a few minutes in video. Cameo states that “hundreds of celebrities are already subscribed to the Cameo Live service“. On the user side, one has to opt for the desired celebrity and then choose up to 3 desired dates, with the celebrity’s availability then being shown within a two-week window.

From then on, all you have to do is wait patiently in front of your phone on D-Day, to spend a few minutes with the much-desired star. According to Cameo, the tariffs (for 10 minutes of call) will be able to climb up to 2,000 dollars. The launch of Cameo Live obviously marks the end of Cameo Calls.
We imagine that, like the video messages offered by the same service, Cameo Live will be used to offer a gift to a friend or relative, who will have the surprise and the pleasure of being called for a few minutes by a celebrity that he appreciates. Moreover, it is obvious that some fans will not hesitate to pay a few hundred euros to spend a handful of minutes on the phone with their favorite star.
