The Final Fantasy series is old and has many entries, many of which are well-loved by fans. Each title adds new items and features, but some appear in various entries, including Chocobos. With Final Fantasy XVI right around the corner, many may be wondering if there are Chocobos in Final Fantasy XVI.

Does Final Fantasy XVI have Chocobos?

The answer is yes: Chocobos will return in Final Fantasy XVI. The iconic birds have appeared in nearly every Final Fantasy game and even non-Final Fantasy games. As a result, the Chocobos have become a fan favorite and are even known among those who haven’t played the Final Fantasy series.

That being said, we don’t know what role they will play in Final Fantasy XVI. They appear to be used as mounts in promotional images, perhaps teasing that they can be ridden to roam the country faster. Chocobos have been summoned in the past, so there may be an Eikon Chocobo that you can use in battle.

We hope they are not just mounts but also used in a minigame, ideally Chocobo racing. Final Fantasy VII’s Chocobo Racing and Farming minigame was a highlight of the game, and a modern version would be delightful. We’ll have to wait to see what role the Chocobos play, but we can’t wait to see these birds return.
