Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the video game industry has experienced major upheaval. Because of that, we were treated to a very quiet launch of next-gen consoles. The year 2021 promised to be exceptional in terms of the release of games, which have, for the most part, been postponed to 2022.
Thus, this year promised to be in turn significant for the players. Unfortunately, over the months, more and more titles are in turn pushed back to next year. Discover through this file the big hits that are still planned for this year and those that have been postponed.

The big games (still) expected in 2022
Saints Row
- Planned release : August 23, 2022

Expected for the month of February 2022, Saints Row has already been postponed for the first time in August. For the moment, the title still seems ready to be released on this date. A game particularly expected, but also feared by fans. This new title is a reboot that starts the license from scratch.

Splatoon 3

A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Planned release : October 18, 2022

Announced at E3 2021, the sequel to the adventures of Amicia and Hugo is still expected for this year. Next month, the French studio Asobo should unveil a long 40-minute demo during which the Asobo Studio teams have given us an appointment for October 18, 2022!
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Also announced at E3 2021, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will be the sequel to Battle Kingdom. During the Summer Game Fest, Nintendo and Ubisoft unveiled a new presentation of the title. The two firms donated for October 20! Are you ready to return to the battlefield?
Gotham Knights

Highly anticipated game by fans of the DC universe and Batman, Gotham Knights will be the next game highlighting the batman. After a long gameplay presentation a few days ago, Warner Bros. confirmed the release for October 25, 2022. Again this should pass for Batman!
Bayonetta 3

Unveiled during a Nintendo Direct in September 2021, Bayonetta’s big comeback is expected for this year. Alas, Nintendo games with a vague release date are usually not as sure of being on time as titles dated precisely by the Japanese publisher. For the moment, very little info, but we know that the title is expected for October 28, 2022!
God of War Ragnarok

Awaited by fans since its reveal in 2020, God of War Ragnarök would be expected for this fall on PS4 and PS5. For the moment, very little information, except that the development is progressing well. PlayStation was to communicate in June on the future of PS5 games… And the firm did not miss its appointment! God of War Ragnarök is expected for November 9th and the hype is immense concerning the new adventures of Kratos!
Pokemon Scarlet & Purple

A few months after the release of Pokémon Legends Arceus, the new generation of Pokémon will arrive at the end of 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Generally, Pokémon games always arrive on time, in November.

Forspoken

Another title that has already been postponed. And more than once. At the base, Forspoken was to be released in May 2022, then in October 2022 on PS5 and PC, two years after its announcement. Finally, the title was postponed to January 24, 2023. We hope that this time it will be the right one!

Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy

It was one of the most anticipated games of the year. Starfield, the new RPG from Bethesda, the Xbox exclusive was supposed to arrive on November 11, with a date squarely embedded in the game’s first teaser. year 2023 on our machines. The year is going to be long!
Drive Unlimited Review: Solar Crown

Expected for September 22, 2022, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown adds to the list of big games expected for 2022 and which are finally postponed to 2023. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Announced at E3 2021, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora will be Ubisoft’s new game. In development for many years, the title should arrive at the end of the year on PC and next-gen consoles. Perfect to accompany the release of the film. It was hard to see Ubisoft missing out on this. And yet. During the summer of 2022, the game was postponed to 2023 and maybe even 2024. We hope that this postponement will be beneficial to the title which will bring a small revolution on the side of Ubisoft.
