In recent years, Apple has modernized the designs of the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and even the iPad mini by reducing the size of the bezels around the screen and removing the home button. On the other hand, when it comes to the entry-level iPad, the appearance has hardly changed.
And today, we wonder if the next entry-level iPad will still have this old-school design. According to an article recently published by the MacRumours site, which relays the Japanese blog Mac Otakara, there is a chance that the iPad 10 will have a screen with thin borders and that it will not have a button. welcome.
According to the article, as on the iPad Air and the iPad mini, the Touch ID fingerprint scanner could thus be positioned on the ignition button, at the edge. Other interesting information, the Asian media also suggests that the Cupertino company could position the FaceTime camera on a corner of the screen, and not in the center. Why ? This position would be more optimal for videoconferences, when the tablet is used in landscape.
Recall also that other sources had previously indicated that the iPad 10 should have a USB-C port instead of Lightning, and that the chip should be the A14 Bionic, with support for 5G for the versions cellular.
As usual, this information is still to be considered with caution, since it comes from an unofficial source. Moreover, contradictory information is circulating on the web.
Indeed, other sources indicate that the iPad 10 would have a new design for the back, but that the appearance of the front would be unchanged.
iPad 10 and iPad Pro: presentation in October
For the moment, it is not known when Apple could unveil its next iPads. And as we approach the month of September, the media are especially interested in the next iPhone.
However, in his latest newsletter, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman mentioned the possibility that the next iPads will be presented during an event in October. According to him, the Cupertino company would not break with its traditions (from before the pandemic), by presenting new iPads and new Macs a month after the presentation of the latest iPhones.
As for tablets, Gurman predicts that Apple will lift the veil on the iPad 10, but also on new iPad Pros that will use the M2 chip. Regarding computers, the journalist thinks that the firm will lift the veil on at least two of these three products: a Mac mini M2, a Mac Pro and a new MacBook Pro.
Moreover, it is also possible that the iPadOS 16 update does not arrive until October, whereas normally, the updates of the iPad arrive at the same time as those of the iPhone from the month of September.
In a previous article, Mark Gurman had indicated that Apple would have found many bugs on iPadOS 16 and it is, at least in part, for this reason that the Cupertino company would delay the release of the update.
