Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 14s at an event sometime in September. But between the rumors, CAD plans and other diagrams, we already know a lot about the future device at this stage. In short, what most fans of the brand miss in August 2022 are the first photos of the iPhone 14… and their price.
Pending more official info from a designer, AR7 has just released visuals of its own concept iPhone 14 Pro (in dark “Midnight” colorway) – based on all the latest info and rumours, as well as interface elements of the latest iOS 16 betas. And the least we can say is that the result (which you can admire in the tweet at the end of the article) is very attractive.
This concept could well resemble the iPhone 14 Pro that Apple will present in September 2022
In particular, we discover a flat-edged design in the same vein as the iPhone 12 and 13 – but with a new screen that swaps the FaceID notch for a cutout that looks like the letter N in Morse code. The renderings also imagine the design of the Always-On interface.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max should be the first models to offer an AMOLED LPTO screen with adaptive 120 Hz refresh (up to 1 Hz to save even more energy than the iPhone 13 Pro panel) and Always-on mode. On allows information to be permanently displayed, even when the screen is off.
The feature itself isn’t new, as Samsung smartphones have already offered Always-On functionality since at least the Galaxy S7 launched in 2016 – other manufacturers have even been offering the technology since 2010. The idea is to deliver in useful information such as the time and the song currently playing on the locked screen.
But without expending energy – in any case not enough to significantly reduce autonomy. Always-On is possible on specially designed AMOLED screens. Brightness and refresh rate are reduced to a minimum – and graphics and colors are simplified to minimize the impact on the battery.
