Rumors about the iPhone 14 series smartphones are increasing as the Apple keynote on September 7 approaches, during which the Cupertino company should present these new devices. For example, a few days ago, a source from the MacRumours site revealed how Apple would make the screen cutouts (the holes that replace the notch) more aesthetic and less distracting on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Max.
And in a new article, the media relays new rumors, coming from the same source. These concern another novelty of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max: the “Always-on” screen.
This function is not new to the Android ecosystem since it is already present on many models. On the other hand, for the iPhone, it is.
The appearance of the Always-on screen would depend on your lock screen
In essence, when the lock screen turns off, the “Always-on” function takes over to display relevant information such as the time or even notifications, while saving energy.
According to MacRumours, its source would have revealed information on the operation of this novelty on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The article indicates that when the “always-on” screen takes over from the lock screen, the background elements, on wallpapers with depth effect, disappear.
As for the elements of the foreground, they will be tinted. The widgets would continue to show, but they would appear and then disappear at regular intervals.
“The content displayed on the always-on lock screen and the fully-lit lock screen must be configured the same and cannot be separated, which means they must share the same wallpaper, same color choices, same fonts and same widgets. The basic visual elements of the always-on display itself can be customized independently”also specifies the MacRumours article.
Notifications would display the same way. And it is possible that the user can configure the iPhone to show a notification counter.
In addition to revealing this information, MacRumours also shared images to give us a better look at this “always-on” screen.

Lots of new features for the Pro models?
For the moment, while waiting for Apple’s presentation, all this information should be considered with caution. But it seems increasingly obvious that the Cupertino company has decided to focus the novelties on the Pro models.
Indeed, according to many sources, it is the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max that will be entitled to this famous “always-on” screen. These should also benefit from a new screen design, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max would retain the notch.
And when it comes to photography, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are said to have a 48-megapixel camera, which should improve the quality considerably. Sources are also talking about changes that will have a big impact on low-light photos.
Finally, some media also mention an increase in RAM memory.
