However, another event risks stealing the show: Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Mix Fold 2, its latest foldable smartphone. The manufacturer has just posted a teaser on Weibo in which we learn that the device will also be launched on the sidelines of an event on the same day. The image at the bottom of this article does not reveal much of the new smartphone.

We only discover a glimpse of a metal hinge that the brand has developed for this iteration – in addition to the fact that the photo part is the result of a partnership with Leica. On the design side, everything seems to indicate that the device will look a lot like the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

It’s also expected to feature a new main display with 120Hz refresh rate – all with LTPO technology that dynamically adapts functionality to save power. On the chip side, the device would ship, according to Android Authority, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 – the most powerful available in 2022.

The selling price is one of the big unknowns of this version. Foldable smartphones are still significantly more expensive than more conventional screen devices. Xiaomi had offered the first Mix Fold around €1,300. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 is available from €1,799. We can therefore imagine Xiaomi trying to stand out with a powerful product, and as well finished as the Galaxy Z Fold.

While charging a price from the outset significantly lower than the price charged by Samsung on its foldable smartphones. Of course, this remains to be confirmed – but the wait is not very long since in two days we will know everything!
