While the cost of energy has been multiplied by 10 and inflation is back in force, it is mandatory to save money on incompressible expenditure items. This is the case of the mobile plan, which everyone needs. But as so often, customers subscribe to packages that are not very suitable, often oversized, and which therefore cost too much compared to their actual consumption.
The solution is this weekend at the MVNO Prixtel. It alone displays such low prices and with so much flexibility: it adjusts according to your actual use. In detail, its flagship mobile plan contains unlimited calls, SMS and MMS and 70 GB for 7.99 euros per month. And if you need an even lower price, there is a formula with 30 GB for only 4.99 euros per month.

Prixtel is not only an operator that has ultra-aggressive rates on its mobile plan, but the latter has real flexibility that you can’t find anywhere else. Thanks to a system of data levels, it allows you to consume more without being bludgeoned on the price. We explain everything in detail below.
An XS-priced package and a subtle mechanism
When we see that the main player in the online market, RED by SFR, displays its 100 GB mobile plan at 15 euros, we quickly understand that Prixtel is exceptional. Being able to subscribe to a 70 GB envelope (on the same SFR network) for half the price is a real bargain.
But where the MVNO stands out even more is the flexibility of its subscription. You could describe it as a 3-in-1 package thanks to its tier system. By default, you will always be on the lowest data level (and therefore the lowest price). If you need to consume more in a given month, you can migrate to higher data levels at reasonable rates.
In the case of the 70 GB plan mentioned above, here are the three levels:
- up to 70 GB per month = 7.99 euros
- between 70 and 90 GB per month = 10.99 euros
- between 90 and 110 GB per month = 13.99 euros
If you always stay below 70 GB, it will therefore not cost you more than 7.99 euros per month. On the other hand, if you have a specific need over a given month for more mobile data, you can switch to one of the two upper levels. The following month, it is quite possible to go back down to the cheaper levels if your consumption is reduced.

And once again, you can compare with the competition and see that the higher levels are very competitive in terms of price: we are not on a non-package level as we can see with the competition. In itself, the 90 GB mobile plan for 10.99 euros per month is still very good. Also keeping in mind that this mobile plan is non-binding. So you can cancel whenever you want.

The smallest, cheapest package
The more detailed package is referred to as Le grand. That said, you also have the option of going on the cheapest mobile plan, which is called Le petit. This is the one that starts at 4.99 euros per month for 30 GB. It too has two upper levels to offer flexibility to those looking for a reduced budget. Moreover, the data envelope that is included responds quite precisely to the average need of the French public.
Here are the bearings:
- up to 30 GB per month = 4.99 euros
- between 30 and 40 GB per month = 7.99 euros
- between 40 and 50 GB per month = 9.99 euros
If you use Wi-Fi at home and at work, this mobile plan may be suitable for regular Internet use on your smartphone. As you can see, data tiers are lower in volume and price. If you need to drastically reduce your mobile bill, this will be a very good choice.
Because Prixtel wants a healthy and transparent relationship with its audience, it clearly displays the details of its special offer: the above rates are guaranteed for the first year. You will then have an increase of 3 euros per level beyond. From a value for money point of view, this package will still be an excellent choice. And then you can always decide to leave if necessary.
How to change plan?
If you are not familiar with the change of operator, we reassure you immediately: it is very easy. The French regulator has forced operators to facilitate the transfer so that customers can easily get the best price. The first thing to do is to call 3179 (free number) which will give you your RIO code. The latter is essential to keep your number from one operator to another.
Once you have your RIO code, you can complete the registration form on the Prixtel website. You will then choose your mobile plan and off you go: the subscription will also directly lead to the termination of your current contract. Your phone number will be transferred for free: you just have to wait for your new SIM card to arrive. You won’t have any interruptions between the two operators, everything happens naturally. In a few minutes, the case is closed.
