In 2019, Bend Studio released Days Gone, the new PlayStation exclusive that immersed us in a post-apocalypse universe flooded with zombies. A game with a nice little success, well appreciated by players. However, Sony has not given the green light for the development of a sequel.
While everyone thought that the Days Gone license was going to be forgotten, we learned this evening (with a lot of surprises) that a film is in production.

It’s a great exclusivity that we owe to the Deadline media. After the success of the adaptation of Uncharted (which won more than 400 million dollars at the box office), PlayStation Productions intends to adapt the Days Gone license into a feature film which is already in production with Sam Heughan as lead actor and Sheldon Turner as screenwriter.
Heughan will therefore play Deacon St John in a film which should highlight Deacon’s romantic relationship during a motorcycle road trip in the midst of hordes of zombies. Days Gone places the player in a devastated world where groups of survivors try to fight against zombies. Deacon is a former member of a motorcycle club. In the game, the latter survives and tries to find the love of his life who has been missing since the start of the pandemic.
On the production side, Jennifer Klein and Sheldon Turner are producing the film through their production company, Vendetta Productions. For PlayStation Productions, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will handle production. For the moment, we do not know who will be in charge of directing the film. We also don’t know when the movie is supposed to hit theaters.
