Season 4 of Stranger Things allowed real revelations from actors like Joseph Quinn (aka Eddie Munson). Despite deaths during the episode, as some cast members, including Millie Bobbie Brown, have pointed out, the last season of Stranger Things has multiplied the headliners somewhat (at the risk of stealing the show from Eleven?) .
Not that that choice actually fell flat. Among the new faces, a number of characters immediately aroused the attachment of the public. It must be said that Stranger Things season 4 stands out from the rest, with its new filming locations – some of which are very far from Hawkins, making it possible to justify this certain screenplay richness.
Stranger Things Season 5 Should Focus More On The Original Cast
Still, as Ross and Matt Duffer have just confirmed, the season 5 finale should tighten the spotlight around the original cast. The Duffer brothers indeed affirm to the IndieWire blog that they “will do their best” not to add new characters, while specifying that the final season will focus mainly “on the original characters”.
Should we read between the lines that it will mainly be about Eleven, the children of Hawkins, Hopper and Joyce Byers? No doubt – even if the writers don’t quite explicitly say so at this point. The Duffer brothers explain in their interview that introducing new characters runs the risk of overshadowing more established cast members.
Using Eddie Munson as an example, Ross and Matt Duffer explain the need for caution in this area: “we can’t add someone who’s just going to take something from our characters if they’re not excellent”. However, they note that most of the choices in this direction in season 4 have paid off, especially the characters of Eddie and Max.

“It’s ultimately very nice because these actors are incredible. I like to shake up the story a bit, which can be done by changing the plot or adding a new monster”. The Season 5 finale of Stranger Things is still being written. If all goes well, the final part of the series should be unveiled on Netflix in the course of 2024.
