When will The Last Of Us Part.I be released?

The Last Of Us Part.I is expected to release in September 2, 2022 around the world.

Compatible consoles

The Last Of Us Part.I is a Naughty Dog production. The game will therefore be a PS5 exclusive. The title will be released later on PC, but no date has been announced yet.

How big will the game be on PC and consoles?

The weight of The Last Of Us Part.I will be 79GB on PS5. It’s much more than the Remastered version on PS4 which is only 48GB. For the PC version, we have no information at the moment (as of August 17, 2022).

Will there be multiple editions of The Last Of Us Part.I?

Yes, Naughty Dog has planned two editions for The Last Of Us Part.I with the simple edition and the firefly edition. Alas, for the second version, it is an American exclusivity. In France, we will only be entitled to the simple edition.

If I have the PS3/PS4 version, do I have to pay for the PS5 version of The Last Of Us Part.I?

Unfortunately yes. This is a remake, a new game and not a port of the PS4/PS3 versions to PS5. So, even if you own the old versions of the game, you will have to pay for your game again.

Will The Last Of Us Part.I be available on the new PlayStation Plus?

No, or at least not at launch. The title may come later, but for the moment it is not planned.

Will The Last Of Us Part.I be the sequel to another game?

No, this is a remake. This means that this is the very first Joel and Ellie adventure that Naughty Dog has reworked to deliver a game as beautiful as The Last Of Us Part.II. Nothing changes, it’s the same story and content as in 2013, but with much nicer graphics and new features such as compatibility with DualSense features. It’s the perfect time to embark on the adventure if you haven’t played the original game and The Last Of Us Part.II!

What is the synopsis of The Last Of Us Part.I?

In 2013, the world changed. An epidemic will decimate the world. A strange parasite, the cordyceps, is transmitted by spores and contaminates all the people who will breathe it. In less than twenty years, the world is turned upside down and groups of survivors try to resist in military zones to protect the population. You play as Joel, a smuggler trying to make a living by smuggling goods through Boston’s quarantine zone. His new mission? Bring out a young girl who seems immune, to lead her to the Fireflies, a resistance group that has been trying for several years to develop a vaccine that could save humanity. This little girl could be the solution. It is then that a long journey through the United States begins. A trip from which you will not come out unscathed!

What is the difference between The Last Of Us Part.I and the original game?

To date, there are three versions of The Last Of Us.

The Last Of Us, 2013 (PS3)
The base game, available in 720p, 30FPS.
The Last Of Us Remastered, 2014 (PS4)
The remastered version, available in 1080, 30FPS with the Left Behind DLC.
This is a version that only had the right to a facelift to have better resolution.
The Last Of Us Part I, 2022 (PS5)
The “remake” version, available in 4K, 60FPS, with the Left Behind DLC and improved gameplay allowing for many more accessibility options, full compatibility with DualSense features.
This is the “ultimate” version offering graphics as beautiful as The Last Of Us Part.II, with some new gameplay features (such as workbenches to improve weapons…).

Is it necessary to have played the other The Last Of Us?

No, since this is the remake of the first opus, it is not necessary to have played the first versions and/or The Last Of Us Part.II. On the contrary, it’s the ideal way to get started if you’ve never tried the license!

What’s new in this remake version?

First of all, The Last Of Us Part.I will be compatible with DualSense features on PS5. This means that the game will benefit from several advantages such as:

The haptic feedback : the famous device allowing users to experience all new sensations when handling the DualSense. The use of weapons or environmental effects such as falling rain will be fully experienced by them.
Adaptive triggers : to push the immersion to its maximum, once again allowing players to fully enter their favorite games. On the program, you will have the right to vibration effects of the controller and guaranteed, again, a craziest sensory experience. In this sense, the trigger resistance will be adapted on all weapons, including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow. Each weapon in the game has its own resistance variables.
3D audio : for total immersion in sound. Thanks to the console’s Tempest 3D engine, it’s possible for players to hear sounds as if they’re triggering around them. Meetings with the clickers are likely to be quite incredible…

In addition to this, The Last Of Us Part.I will offer some new features such as a removal of loading times. For the gameplay, the movements have been made more fluid, the improvement of weapons works the same way as in The Last of Us Part II, the physics of objects is much better, more accessibility options with for example audio description , and the artificial intelligence has been reworked with their new technology used for Part 2.

Two new game modes make their appearance with the “Permadeath”. A mode in which you only have one life. When you die, you have to restart the whole game. A “speedrun” mode is also integrated into this remake to show everyone that you are the fastest!

You will also have new cosmetic appearances for Joel and Ellie, or a mode where you can view figurines in 3D.

Will there be multiplayer in The Last Of Us Part.I?

Unfortunately no, this is a single-player game only. The online part is not included in this remake.
