It’s been a few years now that Apple has set up some of its factories in India, in addition to China. In 2020, it was the iPhone 11 that made the news, with the first phones ” Made in India that were being developed in the country. At the end of the year, the American giant will launch a new iPhone 14 range, and for this new batch, Apple will not only run its Chinese factories at full speed, but also its facilities in India.
An iPhone 14 “made in India”?
As we know, Apple has its iPhones produced in China, in the now famous Foxconn factory. However, China is not the only country to produce the apple smartphone, and Apple also has companies in India, but also in Brazil. However, it is the Chinese factory that is responsible for ensuring Apple’s main activity, especially when it comes to ensuring the global launch of new smartphones.
However, this year, it seems that Apple has decided to ensure the production of the iPhone 14 simultaneously in India and China. The report comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who revealed that at least one of the new iPhone 14 models will be produced in India, along with China. It would then be a great first in the production of a new generation of iPhone.
Indeed, in normal times, the production of a new iPhone outside of China usually takes a few months to start. Obviously, iPhone 14 production capacity in India won’t be enough to fill the void caused by China’s production issues in the near term, but according to Ming-Chi Kuo, it’s still a “milestone for Apple“, and a way to reduce Apple’s dependence on China.
Remember that the new iPhone 14 range should allow Apple to lift the veil on a brand new screen, which would benefit from a new display technology from Samsung Display: OLED M12. To this would be added a notch largely revised and corrected. Under the hood, it is rumored that only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would use the new A16 Bionic chip. As for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, these would use last year’s chip: the A15. A little more patience then…
