Whether you’ve watched it or not, you’re bound to remember Squid Game, that Korean series that literally set Netflix on fire a year ago. A series whose season 2 will arrive soon, and whose plot has fascinated millions of people around the world, who have also been able to discover “new” faces, actors already stars in South Korea, starting with Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo and Jung Ho-yeon.
Who put Squid Game in my Star Wars?
Also, it’s no surprise to learn that Squid Game’s lead actors have been in high demand for the past few months, starting with the series’ lead actor, Lee Jung-jae, who just landed a role in… Star Wars.
Indeed, the latter will play one of the main roles in the next Star Wars series, called The Acolyte. A series formalized at the start of the year and entrusted to the director Leslye Headland (at the origin of Russian Doll on Netflix), which should focus mainly on female characters. The series is set to explore the rise of the dark side at the end of the High Republic era, before the events depicted in the movie The Phantom Menace.
At present, it is impossible to know what role Lee Jung-jae will play in this new Star Wars series, obviously expected from Disney+. Among the cast of The Acolyte, we will also find actresses Amandla Stenberg and Jodie Turner-Smith.
As for Lee Jung-jae, the latter has not yet been confirmed in season 2 of Squid Game, and has recently been working on the production of his very first feature film, Hunt, which was presented at the Cannes film festival. So be patient.
