For several long years now, the mobile sphere has been divided into two distinct categories: Apple enthusiasts with iOS and Google enthusiasts with Android. Very different until some time ago, over the years the two operating systems of Google and Apple have each been drawing inspiration from the competitor, so that at present the two ecosystems are more similar than ever. However, according to a recent study by Beyond Identitymany Android users would be ready to leave everything to migrate to an iPhone running iOS 16.
Privacy according to Apple
Indeed, by questioning a little more than a thousand smartphone users (in the United States), Beyond Identity was able to point the finger at a feature of iOS, which would be able to crack a quarter of the respondents. Indeed, for 49% of them, it is Apple’s superiority in privacy and security that could make them abandon Android for iOS. In total, 505 Android smartphone owners and 498 iPhone owners were interviewed.

The study also asked respondents to share their experiences with iPhone and Android security. In total, about 40% fell victim to malware attacks or cyber scams. However, Apple once again has the advantage, as more of its users say they have never experienced a security breach of any kind.
Finally, the new iOS 16 version would represent a real asset for Apple, in the eyes of Android users. About 33% of respondents are considering the possibility of migrating to an iPhone running iOS 16, thanks to this new update and the various features dedicated to privacy (including Lockdown mode).
